Consonant Clusters

True clustersare pairs where both consonants are pronounced together as a blend (like “kr” in กรุง “krung”). The second consonant is always ร, ล, or ว.

Leading consonants are pairs where the first consonant (ห or อ) is silent but changes the tone class of the second consonant. For example, หม makes ม behave as high class.
